A final decision

While catching up on the local-local-local scene, I checked back on CT Siting Council docket #388, and found the "Certification Package" under "Final Decision"--

Wednesday, June 9 - Board of Selectmen meets as usual beginning at 6pm. Live on WGATV.

And if that's not enough, also on Wednesday, at 6:30pm, the Massaro Farm folks and town Library are teaming up to present Organic Gardening 101 with Certified Master Gardener Nicholas Mancini. It's free but you should register with the library, at the circulation desk (203-389-3433 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              203-389-3433      end_of_the_skype_highlighting) or by e-mailing pvalsecchi@ci.woodbridge.ct.us. Then they'll know if they have enough room.

Thursday, June 10 - United Illuminating top brass will meet with Woodbridge residents, 6:30-7:30pm in the Center Gym. Tips on saving energy, answers to "Why is my electric bill so high?" (Seriously, that's how they pitched it in a flyer that landed on my desk.) Free LED flashlights will be offered to folks who attend. Woo-hoo! Oh-- and they're curious about what the public thinks is needed in the way of legislation regarding energy.

forums like ours

Distracted by too many good ideas, I bounced from reboot.fcc.gov to its Future of Media page to a forum (Media in Your Community)inviting the public to submit Top Ideas, to vote and comment on them:
http://futureofmedia.uservoice.com/pages/37784

Second from the top of vote-getters is a description of our own CT-N/Connecticut Network and its sister organizations in the other 49 states. I love my CT-N, having stayed up till midnight last night with the Senate playing on my laptop and the House playing on my TV. (Yes, my household switched back to cable from satellite--story for another day.)

And yet, I am attracted by the Vermont Front Porch Forum, third on the list.
http://frontporchforum.com/

Unlike our Woodbridge Citizen, it seems to require funding & so solicits donations. Yet it appears to have active participation from its subscribers. And its SO local. How shall I vote?

April 7: Voter Registration Drive at Amity HS
