Get involved in the PTO! The Amity Middle School PTO is looking for people to help with small fundraising projects. What better way to learn about the middle school! The next
meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 7th at 7 pm in the Media Center of the Middle School.

Tonight, Thursday, October 7 at 7:00 pm on Connecticut Public Radio's "Where We Live" show, Woodbridge resident, Jon Gorham, joins John Dankosky, Bill McKibben, Dan Esty, and others to discuss the upcoming global work party this Sunday, 10-10-10. Bill McKibben will describe this global event that is taking place in nearly 7,000 places in 188 countries around the world. Jon will then talk about the two work parties that will be taking place right here at Massaro Farm in Woodbridge this Sunday. Woodbridge residents are all encouraged to join the afternoon's work party at Massaro Farm from 2-4 pm.

Come learn more about Ezra Academy, a K - 8 Jewish day school. Ezra will hold open houses for parents and prospective students on Oct. 11, Nov. 7 and Dec. 1. A special program of fun activites for preschoolers will take place during the Oct. 11 Columbus Day open house with one of our kindergarten teachers. The next meeting of the Woodbridge Zoning Board of Appeals will be held Wednesday, October 13th at 7:30 PM in the Selectmen's Board Room in the Woodbridge Town Hall.

Last year, the Beecher Road PTO started a new tradition - Social Night for each grade/year! They were such a great success that the PTO is continuing them this year.

The Second Grade/year Social Night takes place October 15th.

The Woodbridge Conservation Commission will host its annual Fall Walk at 1 pm on October 17th at the Elderslie Preserve property on Peck Hill Rd. in Woodbridge. All are invited to enjoy this scenic historic wilderness area via a free guided walking tour. Families and children are welcome, and comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended. Refreshments will be served following the hike. Steady rain or lightning cancels. The Fall Walk will start at 1 PM at the Elderslie Preserve property, located on Peck Hill Road, between Old Quarry Road and Elderslie Lane, and 1/2 mile south of Seymour Road (Rte 67).
