Background

My name is Edward Walsh and I am the founder of the Amity Rugby club, coach/manager and a parent of a player. We have 12 players from Woodbridge and 28 from Orange and Bethany. The club is growing and has attracted some of the top athletes at the school. Practices for the growing Amity Regional Rugby Club are ongoing. All Amity high school age males are encourgage to learn about the world’s second most popular sport behind soccer.

Once again an Olympic sport, rugby on the high school level has grown rapidly around the United States. Amity has landed one of the premier high school level coaches in the US, Nathan Gallow who in addition to coaching Amity will be working with Yale rugby. Mr. Gallow coach several clubs in California before relocating in Connecticut. Amity plans to be involved with the CT High School Championships at Yale this spring and the New Haven 7s Tournament this summer and the CT High School Rugby Championships at Yale in May.
