Mahindra’s newly launched 2017 XUV500, what’s new in it?

Right from the start of the year, the automobile industry has magnificently played its dices to stay up to the mark in India. The streets are not only flooded with the totally refreshed models but also has vehicles that were introduced with the facelifts and some minor cosmetic updates.

Right now, it is the chaos of Mahindra’s recently launched 2017 XUV500 that comes with some new features and with new Lakeside Brown color. The company has launched its SUV with loads of tech-savvy features such as Ecosense, connected apps, Android Auto, and Emergency Call. These features are consolidated in the touchscreen infotainment system that will be available from W6 variant.

Focusing on the newly integrated features, Android Auto enables the user to stay connected with android devices and stay readily available to respond the messages, calls. These features also help competently to navigate and select music via in-built infotainment system. The user-friendly interface of the panel reduces the complication of the task that we regularly perform while driving. It comes with steering mounted controls too. The in-built entertainment connected apps allow the user to use some commonly preferred Indian apps such as BookMyShow, Gaana, and Zomato on the infotainment system. The user needs to connect the system with the Wi-Fi connection to access the apps.

Next comes the Ecosense feature, which by its name conveys that it is something related to the fuel economy and efficiency. The feature displays an Ecoscore out of 100 based on the various driving parameters. This mandates the driver to drive in an efficient way. The display system also notifies with the average Ecoscore. At last, comes the Emergency Call function; it sends a text message to preset contact numbers in the case of an accident and after the deployment of airbags.

Emphasizing on the powertrain of the XUV500, it is equipped with a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine that produces 140 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. The engine is integrated with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.

Other features that have been included in the upgraded 2017 XUV500 comprise All-wheel-drive, ABS along with EBD, beige leather seats, auto climate control, cruise control, 6-airbags, follow-me-home headlamps, reverse parking camera, and so on.

The price of the 2017 XUV500 starts at Rs 13.60 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for W6 variant and above.
