Whole Foods stores across the nation are recalling Papillon Organic Roquefort cheese. After a sample testing completed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, it was found that the cheese contained Listeria monocytogenes during a routine check on a full uncut wheel of cheese. Whole Foods then made the decision to recall this particular product found in all of its stores.
The FDA has put out an image showing how to identify the cheese. The SKU code showing the numbers 0259536 is a sure way to properly identify the problem product.
Currently there has been no reports from customers who may have purchased the cheese of any illness to date. This news comes just days after the voluntary recall from General Mills on their frozen green beans which was tested positive for listeria. This was not the first time for General Mills, as these same green beans were found to have the same problem back in August of 2015.
Anyone who has purchased the Papillon Organic Roquefort cheese can return it for a full refund. Additionally Whole Foods has opened up a specific line for any inquiries that customers may have about the recall. That information can be found below.
